Visiting Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa is one of the popular tourist destinations along the Costa Blanca, a beautiful resort located somewhere between the famous Alicante and the vibrant Benidorm. Villajoyosa became famous thanks to its colored fishermen’s houses that use electric yellows, reds and blues and for its chocolate production, which is absolutely delicious. ‘’Villajoyosa’’ can be literally translated into ‘’The Jeweled Town’’ and most of those who already visited it describe the city as being a ‘’Chocolate Heaven’’.

Many of the popular Spanish chocolate delicacies are produced in Villajoyosa, as well as the traditional turron. You are not allowed to leave the city without tasting some of these wonders! The chocolate is even present in the local museum, where you will be related a tale about a man who started a chocolate business in Villajoyosa, back in 1881. That family business is still present in the city, using old, secret recipes and special aromas for the chocolate produced.

Compared with Villajoyosa, Benidorm is a more popular and famous tourist attraction, as it is one of the massive tourist destinations in Europe. The entertainment possibilities are numerous in Benidorm, as it has numerous parks, bars and clubs where people can have a lot of fun. The Aqualandia Water Park, the Terra Natura and Terra Mitica theme parks and the Exotic Animal Parks manage to attract thousands of visitors every year.

Benidorm stands out with an original charm, with its picturesque landscapes, the friendly people and the idea of ‘’party animal destination’’, as it rivals Ibiza when it comes to active nightlife. If you visit this area of Costa Blanca, stop for a few days in Villajoyosa and Benidorm, enjoy their hustle and bustle, their unique atmospheres and the holiday spirit that surrounds them and make sure you have a memorable vacation!
